mactelnet-server software package provides Telnet daemon for accepting connections via MAC addresses, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install mactelnet-server
mactelnet-server is installed in your system.
Make ensure the mactelnet-server package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep mactelnet-server *
You will get with mactelnet-server package name, version, architecture and description in a table
